Sanpoutei Ramen Opens New Paragon Outlet With Exclusive Dishes

Sanpoutei Ramen is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the opening of its third outlet at Paragon Shopping Center, the heart of Orchard Road! Founded in 1967 in Japan’s Niigata prefecture, Sanpoutei has spent over 50 years perfecting its ramen craft. Since its Singapore debut in 2014, the brand has earned a loyal following for its hearty ramen. The new 46-seater Paragon outlet will launch with exclusive dishes and elegant design touches inspired by Mount Fuji!

Kombu-infused Tsukemen

The new joint in town will be rolling out outlet-exclusive dishes such as the Kombu-infused Tsukemen ($18), where the noodles are steeped in a delicate kelp infusion, slowly enriched with the umami of Rishiri and Gagome kelp from Hokkaido. We first enjoyed the noodles on its own, appreciating the subtle flavours of kelp and the aroma of wheat.

Then, we dipped the noodles into their house-made soy-based dipping sauce for a deeper, richer taste. Lastly, finish off with a warm broth of Kombu and Bonito, also known as Wari Soup which transformed the dipping sauce into a light and tasty soup. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole ‘taste, dip, and sip’ experience as the noodles had a firm yet silky texture, perfectly springy, while the broth was an amazing complement.

Shoyu Ramen

If tsukemen is Sanpoutei’s subtle nod to innovation, then this bowl is its heartfelt tribute to tradition. The brand’s signature Shoyu Ramen (from $15) is a staple across all outlets — but only at the new Paragon store is it elevated with an exclusive broth blend featuring Dried Flying Fish (Ago) and Rishiri Kombu from Hokkaido, slow-simmered for over seven hours to achieve a broth that’s clear, refined, and deeply umami.

Its beauty lies in its signature components; house-made noodles served in a rich and aromatic shoyu base, topped with comforting classics — Chashu, Spinach, Bamboo Shoots, Nori, and a perfectly marinated Ajitsuke Tamago with a molten golden centre.
