Mackerel lovers can look forward to several preparations that showcase how versatile this fish can be. The Cold-Smoked Salt & Pepper Mackerel combines the richness of mackerel with gentle smokiness and a savoury seasoning, making it an easy match for sake.
For something more comforting, Mackerel Simmered in Miso Sauce offers tender fish cooked in a rich, savoury miso-based sauce. It is a convenient option for enjoying a classic Japanese home-style flavour without the need for extensive preparation.
Garlic with an Aomori Twist
Aomori is particularly well known for its garlic, and the fair continues to showcase the ingredient in creative, convenient forms, including Aged Black Garlic, prized for its deep, mellow sweetness and rich umami.
