Gyu San: New Japanese Butchery & Sando Shop, Offering Premium Japanese Wagyu Cut & Juicy Thick Sando

Wagyu lovers, this is a place you definitely should not miss! Gyu San, a newly opened one-stop shop for wagyu in Tanjong Pagar, allows you to find over 55 ranges of premium Japanese wagyu and enjoy savoury wagyu sando at their cosy 25-seater space with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an airy alfresco area.

Look forward to top-grade Japanese wagyu flown directly from different prefectures in Japan, including Kanzaki Gyu from Iwate prefecture and Hida Gyu from Gifu prefecture. They also offer prime selections like striploin, tenderloin, and ribeye alongside secondary cuts like the flank, oyster blade, and tri-tip. Enjoy a personalised experience where Gyu San's butchery, Chef Linh (one of the few female butchers in the industry), carves the meats for your needs such as stew cuts, hamburger patties, and more.

That's not all! Here at Gyu San, you can indulge in top-grade Japanese Wagyu fat-fried katsu sandos and chips masterfully prepared by Chef Tomoyuki Kiga (from 2 Michelin-starred restaurants like Ristorante Aso in Daikanyama, Tokyo, and Melisse in Santa Monica, USA). All the meat for the sando is procured from Kamichiku’s Satsuma Gyu, where the cattle are graded A4 and above and only raised by 12 Kagoshima-based farmers with the status of Meijin (master).

The sando menu includes the Gyu Katsu Sando (house cut at $32, striploin at $48, chateaubriand at $62), served with prime steak cut of marbled A5 Japanese Wagyu crusted in panko crumbs sandwiched between two pieces of lightly toasted crustless shokupan.

They also offer other items like Tamagoyaki Katsu Sando ($18), EbiKatsu Sando ($28), Wagyu Chips ($8), A5 Yakiniku Salad ($18), and Green Salad ($8).
