Warabimochi Kamakura Serves Unique Warabimochi Dessert-Drinks At One Holland Village

New pet-friendly mall, One Holland Village is home to many new and exciting restaurants including IPPUDO, Baskin Robbins and Warabimochi Kamakura is the newest kid on the block. As the first Southeast Asian outpost outside of Japan, the store serves warabimochi dessert-drink crossovers, infusing traditional Japanese warabimochi with various flavours for one-of-a-kind beverages.

With over 50 stores and counting dotted across Japan, the warabimochi specialist is set to open its second outlet in Singapore- Taste Orchard (#01-02), slated to open in mid to end February.

Warabimochi

Warabimochi is a delectably chilled and deliciously chewy jelly-like mochi. Modern day warabimochi came about during the Kamakura period and is eaten with a generous dusting of rich and nutty kinako soybean powder and a drizzle of kuromitsu sugar syrup.

At Warabimochi Kamakura, warabimochi is made the traditional way with bracken starch, elevated to a silkier mouth feel thanks to the addition of a house secret blend. You can look forward to a mochi that is chewier, lighter in texture and goes down smoother with each bite. Each serving is dusted generously with carefully selected and high quality kinako and housemade kuromitsu syrup, sourced exclusively from Japan.

On the menu are hand-cut and hand-tossed pieces of warabimochi that are made fresh daily, in boxes of 5 pieces ($7.90) and 10 pieces ($14.90).

Have a quick pick-me-up and get the 2-Piece Cup with Ice-Cream ($5.90) or without ice-cream at $3.90. You can even top up $1.50 for extra kuromitsu syrup!

Beverages

Warabimochi dessert-drinks include popular beverages such as matcha, hojicha, coffee milk and strawberry yogurt, served with a warabimochi base and topped with whipped cream for an extra indulgent concoction. We recommend the Tenku No Hojicha and the Coffee Milk which uses an unique original blend of European Coffee beans that have been carefully crafted to highlight Warabimochi Kamakura’s warabimochi.
