5 Types Of Japanese Restaurants For Your Valentine’s Day Dinner

A month of 2021 just flew past and it’s another February again - which spells Valentine’s Day! If you’re over the usual options in Singapore, try something Japanese for a change! And we don’t just mean a bowl of ramen (although that, now that we think of it, would make for some nice alt-romance). We compiled 5 ways to dine at — perfect for couples, friends or family who loves their Japanese cuisine!

From pocket-friendly eats, casual fusion cafes, to high-end exquisite omakase — read on to find out more!

1. Spanish-Japanese Exquisite Omakase at Bam!

BAM! is Singapore’s first gastro establishment to pay tribute to ‘Modern Shudo’ – the contemporary way of sake enjoyment – and this revolutionary way of eating and drinking is taking flight in culinary corners around the world.

Spanning across two shophouse units at 38-40 Tras Street, BAM! encloses a warmly-lit dining room, a floor-to-ceiling sake cellar with an extensive label of both sake and wine, discreet private dining space and a relaxed open kitchen where dining becomes a spectator sport.

Teppan Bar Q has both Japanese-Spanish and traditional Japanese dishes. It gives a chance for those who are adventurous enough to try new things and still be satisfied with the classic dishes! Check out some of their Fukuoka specialities below:

Majority of the seats here are counter seats, with most having a view of the teppan, but if your preference is to avoid the grill smell after a meal here, you can request for the other tables in the restaurant – although they will only be serving you light bites and drinks at these tables!
