Review: Roku Gin x Janice Wong Snowskin Mooncake Set Featuring Unique Flavours Like Matcha Lemon Thyme Gin
Janice Wong Singapore, a confectionary brand created to inspire where art meets design, helmed by Chef Janice Wong, a world-renowned pastry chef, has brought back her beloved Taste of Japan collection of snowskin mooncakes this Mid-Autumn Festival!
They have collaborated with Roku Gin, a Japanese craft gin, to present you with a special bundle, Roku Gin x JW Snowskin Mooncake Set, for this year's Mid-Autumn celebration. It includes a bottle of Roku Gin (200ml), Roku Gin ceramic cups (x2), with a box of Snowskin Mooncakes (8 pieces) in three unique flavours- Matcha Lemon Thyme Gin, Sakura Strawberry Gin, and Bergamot Yuzu Gin, inspired by Roku’s six uniquely Japanese botanicals. The flavours are light-hearted, focusing on the naturalness of the ingredients used. It also showcases Chef Janice Wong's creativity in dessert and art.
Matcha Lemon Thyme Gin
This flavoured mooncake is so light! The gin pairs perfectly well with the lemon and the herbal hint of thyme. It also has a fragrant note of matcha, leaving an earthy aftertaste in my mouth- so refreshing!
Sakura Strawberry Gin
If you are a gin lover, this flavoured snowskin mooncake is definitely for you! As I bite into this mooncake, the strong taste of gin hits me directly and lingers in my mouth, followed by subtle floral notes of cherry blossom and the sweet flavour of strawberry.
Bergamot Yuzu Gin
This flavoured mooncake is bursting with flavours! From the taste of the yuzu gin to the citrusy notes of the bergamot. Such a refreshing treat!
