Review: Japan's Famed Donut Chain, Mister Donut, Opens Flagship Store At Junction 8
You would have probably heard of Mister Donut, Japan's famed donut chain, where they opened a pop-up store in Singapore last year with marathon queues that stretched for three hours long.
If you missed the chance to try it previously, you can finally get your hands on their iconic donut now as Mister Donut (by RE&S) has just opened its first flagship store in Singapore at Junction 8! It is a small and cozy store located just beside KOI.
This time, besides its classics, you can look forward to Singapore's exclusive flavours like Strawberry Chocolate ($2.50) and Pon De Ring Chocolate ($2.50).
The Strawberry Chocolate donut comes in a cake-like texture and is glazed with strawberry sauce. The richness of the chocolate perfectly harmonizes with the sweetness of the strawberry sauce, creating a delightful and indulgent combination. The Pon De Ring Chocolate was our absolute favourite as it has a mochi-like texture, and the chocolate has a balanced sweetness that added to the overall perfection of this treat.
We also got to try other flavours of their best-selling Pon De Ring mochi donuts, featuring Original ($2.30) and Plain ($2.30). The donuts were flavourful, and the irresistibly soft and chewy texture left us craving for more.
Next, we had the French Cruller donut featuring the Angel French ($2.50), which showcases a delicate, airy pastry coated in a heavenly chocolate glaze and filled with creamy whipped cream. The flavours go perfectly well together, making it a truly delightful treat.
Last but not least, we had the Coconut Chocolate ($2.50) and Golden Chocolate ($2.50), which comes with a cake-like texture donut. The Coconut Chocolate is so flavourful as the coconut bits enhance its overall taste profile, while the Golden Chocolate is rich and indulging.
Final Thoughts
The array of donut selections at Mister Donut truly impressed us, showcasing a delightful range of flavors and textures. The enjoyable experience left such a lasting impression that I am already eagerly planning my next visit to get these delectable treats again.
