Nauti Nauti Review: Hidden River Valley Halal Japanese Fusion Poolside Bar Serving Truffle Capellini, Specialty Mocktails & More

You might frequent River Valley Rd for its wide array of Japanese F&B establishments, but did you know that there is a hidden halal Japanese fusion poolside bar located on River Valley Rd? Introducing Nauti Nauti- experiential Japanese fusion bar & restaurant owned by the same group behind The Halal Mixologist.

Halal Japanese Fusion Food

NAUTI NAUTI offers an extensive menu beyond the usual bar bites, such as sashimi grade raw oysters, hearty mains, charcuterie boards, house platters, desserts, and even vegetarian dishes! View full menu here.

For a start, we had their signature Nauti Nauti Balls ($18), riceballs topped with unagi slices, lobster salad, tobiko roe, and signature nauti nauti sauce on the side. The dish components were nicely seasoned but the rice was slightly on the dry side.

Next, we had to order the Sancho Fries with Japanese Curry Sauce ($13). I mean, who could resist ordering crispy fries at a poolside bar? Indeed, the fries were extra crispy and the dash of sansho pepper added an extra oomph to the flavourful curry sauce dip.

For mains, we had Truffle Capellini with Lobster Salad ($30), featuring shoyu capellini with truffle oil, lobster mayo and ikura. The truffle oil was aromatic and complemented the lobster mayo.

Teriyaki Beef Gyudon ($25) certainly filled our tummies with a medley of beef shortplate slices, onsen egg, mixed toppings such as mushrooms, seaweed, daikon and spring onions.

Last but not least, Mizu Shingen Raindrop Mochi ($11) concluded our evening with a lovely mineral raindrop jelly with molasses syrup and honey crumble topping.

If you are visiting in a big group, do check out their House Platters (from $108++)- scrumptious grilled and fried seafood delights and more.

Cheeky Mocktails

Choose from 9 specialty mocktails served in thematic glass/drinkware for an ultimate poolside dining experience. Lychee Mer-tini ($16) was served in a pretty glass resembling a mermaid’s tail. The concoction of lychee, cherry blossom, coconut juice was sweet and refreshing.

Lemon A Pirates Skull-pture ($16) presents a nautical adventure in a skull glass of sparkling lemon topped with a mix of blue pea and elderflower.

The Ambience

The indoor and outdoor dining areas of poolside bar were intricately adorned with beach lounge chairs, sun hats, giant floats and colourful trinkets. We could definitely picture ourselves relaxing by the beach, as inspired by the ocean vibes on Tioman Island. The air-conditioned indoor dining area is perfect for holding private parties. By the poolside, you can chill at the bar or dine in comfort at the main dining area.

Enjoy some photo time with your friends and family in the photo corner, snap selfies and OOTDs in front of the full length mirrors.

Bonus: There is a foosball table to keep the young and old entertained!

Final Thoughts

Nauti Nauti makes an ideal venue for poolside parties and gatherings, with innovative halal Japanese fusion dishes and delightful mocktails. Unfortunately, the pool is not open to Nauti Nauti’s diners or the public for swimming, only for residents of the building. Nevertheless, you can still have a good time savouring delectable food and refreshing mocktails, amidst the cool nautical vibes.
