We Review and Experience The First Anime Candlelight Concert in Singapore

Listen and Get Spirited Away To Your Favourite Anime Themes at This Intimate Performance

Source: Fever

Fellow otakus of classical music, this is where one of your dreams come true! Followers of Studio Ghibli, be very pleased that most of the songs in the line-up constitutes soundtracks from Hayao Miyazaki’s animated world. Fans of romance, live your moment!

Under the glimmer of candlelight, bask in this magical ambience that will take you on a dreamy ride. For a moment, escape reality and enter the land of Anison piano instrumentals.

Two things are key to these mesmerising nights: candles and music. Every candlelight concert is lit by hundreds of flameless candles, transforming scenic Singapore venues into dreamy atmospheric spaces

The Song Line-up

From Naruto to Studio Ghibli, the show blends the world of anime with the sounds of classical piano, all in a spellbinding atmosphere. Solo pianists Gabriel Hoe and Adriana Chiew perform on alternate nights, where you’ll be able to listen to timeless classics from iconic series like:

  • Naruto

  • Sailor Moon

  • Demon Slayer

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion

  • FullMetal Alchemist (Brotherhood)

  • Attack on Titan

  • Tokyo Ghoul

  • Yuri!!! on Ice

The video below is a snippet of Demon Slayer’s Official Sountrack (OST), Gurenge by LiSA.

Songs from Joe Hisaishi, the composer who gave Studio Ghibli its sound, are also featured.

Where You Can Check Out This Candlelight Concert

The great thing is, this is not a one-time only performance! The anime candlelight concert hold many shows albeit once or twice per month, which means that you won’t miss out on the opportunity to bathe in the enthralling ambience. Organised by Fever, venues on its ticketing website are not announced until about a month prior to the actual date of the event. This hour-long concert is open to everyone aged eight and above, but it’s really one for the grown-ups I’d say.

Our Experience at the Candelight Concert

We barely managed to catch the Art Skins on Monuments light show before our candlelight concert began!

Waiting in queue to get our seat sticker labels.

By the way, we opted for the 9pm show in hopes of getting a more intimate feel!

And… we’re finally here hurrah!

This was 10 minutes before the concert began. The lights are pretty aren’t they?

This concert is a globally-renowned Candlelight series if you’re reading this for the first time! These Candlelight shows have enchanted cities in the US, UK, Spain, France, and Australia with a range of concerts that suits all musical tastes. That’s right, Japan-inspired music isn't the only one that’s being performed! You can find your ideal Candlelight Concert here.
