The Benefits Of This Autumn Fruit - Persimmons!

While autumn calls as we approach the end of the year — the highlight of the event’s produce was Japan’s representative autumn fruit, kaki (柿) - Persimmon! Not going to lie but prior to this tasting — I never had Japanese Persimmons! I was surprised to find out that Japanese Persimmons are actually really soft and sweet! It’s also filled with benefits like - rich in vitamin C and tannis, and aids in preventing hangovers! I totally need this. These orange babies are usually in season from September to December.

Other than enjoying fresh persimmon, the main highlight of this event was to introduce this easy snack — Persimmon Bruschetta!

This branding label, which was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, is used across the board for affairs relating to the export of Japan-grown fruit and vegetables. Highlight: The Council received authorization from the Ministry to use the label on October 19, 2015.

Our Review:

Refreshing and light to the palette, I enjoyed the bruschetta thoroughly! And of course, sipping a glass of Japanese Apple Juice with it, mmmm… so good! The sweet persimmons complemented the savoury and cream cheese really well. An elevated experience without killing my wallet, i can definitely see myself re-making these at home again and again!
